Day 2: Today we started off the workshop by shooting some more. Later we edited the footage to be shot on the 16mm film black and white high contrast (film stock 3378). We set up the edited footage on the laptop and while playing it on the screen, filmed it with the Bolex 16mm reflex camera. After that, we hand processed the 16mm film in the darkroom we had created in the kitchen area. By closing and covering all the lights leeks that were coming in the room. The processing timing is as the following: Developer 2 min Water 1 min Fixer 3 min Wash in Water 5 min The adults in the workshop were in the darkroom, hand-processing and the kids under 16 experimented with paint on film (on old black and white hollywood movie found footage). The processed and the painted films were hanged outside to be dried.

Filmmaking Workshop - Day 1

We started the workshop by going around the table introducing ourselves. We asked the participants to think about what revitalization means to them and asked them how they could express themselves using a word, an object, a colour, etc. that summarizes how they feel about their changing neighbourhood. For the second half of the class we divided into 3 groups of 3 and went outside to shoot some video!

Day 4 - Making games, animations and experiences

Image
Today we explored ways to add interactivity and animation using CoSpaces coding language - CoBlocks. Some of the more ambitious participants even managed to build a game! Check it out! Directions: Use your mouse and arrow keys to move around and discover the object that you can click on to move to the next level. Some of the other participants explored animating their models using code. While others made an interactive, animated comic!
